This boutique hotel has been one of the office's most experimental projects. The owners of a museum with the largest collection of art from the Cusco School decided to join forces with Hilton and create a hotel in the bohemian neighborhood of Barranco in Lima. The concept was born from the neighborhood, the cultural mix of the Cusco School and the art of the museum. From that point of view, references from the old houses of Barranco were sought, mixing architectural elements and seeking contrast between the architecture and the interior. We developed a restaurant that would have an impact at street level.
In the guest rooms, our design process commenced with a painting of an Archangel sourced from the museum's collection. Purposefully pixelating the artwork, we skillfully unveiled our palette of materials and accentuated the room's textures. This approach resulted in a deliberate play of contrasting colors and textures, as we aimed to create a dynamic atmosphere. Drawing inspiration from Barranco's traditional elements, we reimagined and incorporated them as dividers, infusing the rooms with an eclectic and refreshing ambiance.
